This morning we went to the castle near Namur Beez for the festival of plants. Since 1992, the "Festival of Plants" is held twice per year in the park of Beez.

The place is marked by its purple beech (Fagus sylvatica f. purpurea) outstanding, which are listed . The older have nearly 225 years.
Three of them are in the "Garden of the Meuse, along the towpath, the most majestic in circumference (cf) of 580 cm for height (ht.) 28 m ( 12/2000 last measurement made by Mr. Baldwin J.-Cl. Branch Green Areas, Ministry of the Walloon Region)

The castle is an old flag craft belonging to a local notable, Mr. Severin, the property is acquired by the Fallon family in 1862. The buyer decided to start extensive work includes expanding the main building and the construction of stables on the left. This work began in 1865 and was completed in 1868. To date, the property is still in the same family hands.
